Working The Basics:

An intro to the basics of the ethos and tools of Michael Chekhov Technique. 

Four classes is just a taste tester, but enough to approach the Actor's desire and aim for Free Expression--this class introduces Chekhov's first Guiding Principal in 3 necessities for the actor's aim.

  • A Sensitive Body
  • A Rich “Psychology” 
  • Body & Psychology together as one thing.

The tools offered in this work give you a practical exploration into this aim. Tools covered include:

  • Energy Body
  • Sending & Receiving
  • Archetypal Actions
  • Psychological Gesture

May be taken as an intro course or review.

MEET YOUR TEACHER

Emma Wade

Emma Wade is an actor, teacher and director. She has trained closely under the mentor-ship of the studio’s Artistic Director Lenard Petit. Wade has developed comprehensive understanding of Petit's approach and continues now to cultivate her own explorations and contributions. She has studied too with the breadth of the studio's faculty and with the larger Chekhov teaching community.
